“Um Rash-Rash”- National Heritage Site
Location: Eilat
Client: The Israel Government Tourist Corporation
Project Area: 5,300 m2
Um Rash Rash is a national heritage site and the historic location where the famous Ink Flag was raised, marking a defining moment in Israel’s history. As a significant national landmark, the site holds a central place in the story of Eilat and the State of Israel.
Our office is leading the preservation of the original surviving hut and the reconstruction of five additional huts based on historical documentation. The project combines authentic restoration with the creation of modern, accessible public spaces for exhibitions, educational programs, and community events.
Initiated by the Eilat Municipality and the Israel Government Tourist Corporation, this effort highlights the site’s national, historical, and touristic significance, and includes landscape and site development to revitalize and open the site to the public.
